Resurfacing Concrete Patios
 |
That drab concrete patio is so often the last thing to set your mind to
in any home remodeling. That's probably because it’s such a daunting job to
replace cracked concrete or outdated pavers. Just the thought of having to bring
in noisy jack-hammers, dig the lot up and cart it away is enough to give you
nightmares.
So that's where SwiftDeck tiles make their mark. With Swiftdeck, its a simple
matter of locking the individual, precision made wood tiles directly into
place on top of the old concrete patio.
And best of all, you don't need any special skills to build a patio deck this way... or special tools...not even nails, screws or glues.
Just measure the area you want to cover, calculate how many tiles
you'll need and you're set. Everything you need is right inside in each box of
tiles.
If you've got pipes or other obstacles on the patio, don't worry as
you can easily cut the tiles to shape with a handsaw or jigsaw. And reducer strips
are available which just click on the outer row of tiles to give a professional
finishing touch and reduce the possibility of tripping on the outer row of
tiles.

With SwiftDeck there are two distinct styles to choose from plus a double length tile so you can
create a border, insert a feature panel in the middle or make any design of your
choosing. And if you decide to change the design later, that's no problem
as you can simply lift up the tiles and lay them down in another pattern.
As SwiftDeck tiles are constructed with the highly durable and extremely hard
Ipe hardwood from South America, they will survive the harshest weather - heavy
rain, blazing sun or covered with feet of snow for months on end.
For maintenance, all that's required is to give the tiles a wash with water
or brush down every so often to remove loose dirt.
To help retain the color of
the wood as long as possible, we recommend coating the tiles shortly after they
are laid with a good quality decking oil, and again in around 12 months time,
depending on the local weather conditions. |
